			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At Fit For Jesus, we believe in Fitness Focused on Eternity.  Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn’t think that way.  Which means, depending on how “wise” or &#8220;chronologically advanced&#8221; you are, you may have been taught wrong for the last few decades or more.</p>
<p>What is your current philosophy about food?  Exactly what does it mean to you?</p>

<p>If you’ve read Fit For Jesus for any length of time, you are familiar with the following scripture, which clearly states that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. </p>
<blockquote><p>“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.”</p>
<p style="text-align: right;"><strong>1 Corinthians 6: 19-20</strong></p>

<p>So, here is the logic:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;">1)      Fit For Jesus believes in Fitness Focused on <strong>Eternity</strong> – not losing 3 pounds by tomorrow.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;">2)      Literally, nutrition is <strong>fuel</strong> for your <strong>body</strong>.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: left;">3)      Your <strong>body</strong> is the <strong>temple</strong> of the Holy Spirit. </p>
<p>What do we come up with?  Temple Fuel.  It just makes sense!</p>
<p>Thinking of food as Temple Fuel truly changes your perspective.  Every bite becomes a reminder that you are the temple of the Holy Spirit.  Every snack creates an opportunity for you to thank Him not only for the food, but for His blessings and for giving you the opportunity to take care of the body He has given you.</p>
<p>Literally, with the Temple Fuel philosophy, every meal helps you to remember that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and that your food is fuel – not a way of mindlessly filling an emotional need.</p>
<p>It’s amazing how thinking about Fitness Focused on Eternity can change how you think (and eat!), isn’t it?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;">Our mind is unbelievably powerful.  The thoughts that come from our mind lead to how we feel, which often leads to how we act.  The problem occurs when we realize that nearly all of our thoughts are the result of habits. </p>
<p>The question is this:  are your habits good or bad ones?</p>
<p>How do you know if your mindset and thought habits are good or bad?  Honestly, by how you feel the majority of the time.  Since your thoughts basically dictate your feelings, and your actions stem from your feelings and your interpretation of everything that happens around you, it’s pretty easy to look around and decide whether your thoughts are helping you or harming you.</p>
<p>Why is this so important for Christian weight loss?  That’s a good question! </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://fitforjesus.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/positive-thinking.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-307  aligncenter" title="Power of Positive Thinking" src="http://fitforjesus.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/positive-thinking-300x225.jpg" alt="Power of Positive Thinking" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>The reason that a positive mindset is so important is because food has become a way to cope and a way to deal with bad feelings.  Instead of using our mind, we are using our stomachs to control how we feel.</p>
<p>How many times have you eaten because you were bored, angry, or frustrated?  Wouldn’t it have been more productive to find something useful to do with your mind, and subsequently your actions, instead of reaching for an unhealthy snack?</p>
<p>Having a positive and motivated Mindset is crucial for creating the Fit For Jesus philosophy of Fitness Focused on Eternity.  We must get past the reality that nearly everything in our lives is actually a reaction born of habit.  It’s time to take control!</p>
<p>So… what should we think about?  Paul give us a great recipe for a positive mindset in the Bible.</p>
<blockquote><p>Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable&#8211;if anything is excellent or praiseworthy&#8211;think about such things.</p>
<p style="text-align: right;">Phillipians 4:8 (NIV)</p>

<p>Finding things that qualify as true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy is actually *very* easy when you know where to look!  Check out this list.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">1)    Scripture</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">2)    Gratitude</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">3)    Godly Goals</p>
<p>Now, how easy is that!  But, hey, let’s break it down even further!</p>
<p>In Scripture, you can look for:  God’s promises, Value Verses that show how valuable you are, and the teachings of Jesus!</p>
<p>While at times, you may not feel like you have much to be grateful for to express Gratitude, here are 3 quick ones:  your ability to exercise (even if you may be overweight, you are still blessed with a body that functions and can move!), your shelter, and your ability to get healthy food and water (a huge blessing… just ask other countries in the world).</p>
<p>And finally, you can’t go wrong with Godly Goals!  Decide what you would like to DO, how you would like to MAKE A DIFFERENCE, and what you would like to BE.</p>
<p>So, check out Phillipians 4:8 again and work on your positive Mindset as you get Fit For Jesus!</p>

<p>How would you approach weight loss?  More confidently?  More positively?  More quickly?</p>
<p>Let’s add another dimension.</p>
<p>What if you KNEW you could lose weight AND keep it off as long as you desired to?</p>
<p>Frustration would go away, wouldn’t it?  Fear would be gone, right?</p>
<p>It would be massively different for your mindset, wouldn’t it, if you KNEW?</p>
<p>How much more confident would you be?  How much easier would it be to schedule workouts, knowing that your body would respond exactly like it should?  How much less stress would you experience at meals, knowing exactly what you needed to eat to lose body fat?</p>
<p>How would your thoughts change if you KNEW you could lose fat at will?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As I work more and more each day on bringing you the Fit For Jesus program, I become even more and more certain that Spirituality is the missing link for Christian weight loss.  More importantly, it is the missing factor for most of the troubles we face in our lives.</p>

<p>I’m going to be really transparent here and share something personal:  I’m frustrated.  I’m frustrated with a Christian nation, <em>myself</em> included, who has fallen deeply into the lies of the world and of Satan.</p>
<p>I’m not sure how many Christians really understand that there is a literal war going on in the spiritual realm.  I won’t even pretend to understand the spiritual realm, itself, but I can read clearly enough in the Bible to know that human souls are involved and are deeply significant.</p>
<p>Your soul.  My soul.  Your loved ones’ souls.</p>
<p>Everyday, Christians are faced with hundreds of decisions that affect their outcome in eternity.  One of those decisions involves how well you treat the temple of God’s Holy Spirit – your body!</p>
<p>Let’s be clear:  your body is temporary.  Because of that, someone could incorrectly assume that his or her body isn’t very important.  But the reality is that <strong>your</strong> body and <strong>my</strong> body were created by God in His image.  It is special, if only for that reason (although there are many more verses in the Bible that prove how special our bodies are).</p>
<p>But there is more.</p>
<p>You see, Jesus told a few parables in His time.  A few of them taught lessons about being prepared.  A few taught lessons about using our talents, skills, and possessions wisely.  Our bodies are a gift of God and clearly defined in the Bible as the temple of the Holy Spirit.  How we “use our possession” and how we “prepare” for eternity by taking care of His gift WILL have an impact on our outcome in heaven.</p>
<p>So… go back to the beginning:  there is a spiritual war going on right now that involves your human soul.  Your soul is directly connected to your mind and body.  Our very existence means that <span style="text-decoration: underline;">God</span> gave us a chance to choose Him, to serve Him, to love Him, and to take care of His possessions wisely as we prepare for His return.</p>
<p>When your body is exhausted, depleted and ultimately <strong>gone</strong>, all of your chances and opportunities for choice will be over.  All of my chances will be over.  My future in heaven will no longer be under my influence from that moment forward.</p>
<p>The question is this:  what choices will you make until then to ensure that, Lord willing, you have a LONG, healthy lifetime of wise decisions to make, to the glory of Jesus?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you’ve been reading the blog the last few weeks, you may have noticed that I am rotating through the 5 factors of getting Fit For Jesus.  They are:</p>

<p>Today’s blog post is about the Fit For Jesus “Losing” Lifestyle.  There has been some controversy about the concept of “losing” weight and weight “loss”, because our brains are so wired against the concept of “losing” anything.</p>

<p>It goes against our nature to lose… we always want to gain and win.  We want to be ahead.  It’s how we’re built and what we are taught from the moment we are born.  We are always taught to “get” and “do” and “be” more.  We are rewarded for getting smarter, for getting more money, for getting the love of our life.</p>
<p>But we are never taught to lose… until we open our Bible.</p>
<p>Confused?  It says to “lose” in the Bible?  Where?</p>
<p>Let me clarify with a few verses.</p>
<blockquote><p>From Paul:  “It teaches us to <em>say “NO” to ungodliness and worldly passions</em>, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope – the appearing of the glory our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.”</p>
<p>~  Titus 2:12-14</p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p>From Jesus:  “If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away.  It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.  And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away.  It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.”</p>
<p>~  Matthew 5:29-30</p></blockquote>
<p>Wow!  Jesus really put it out there, didn’t He?  Jesus was really clear about this:  do not let a lifestyle of living for the evil things of this world lead you to destruction!  In other words, it is quite ok (and highly encouraged) to “lose” the ways of this world, as opposed to losing your body to hell!</p>
<p>With Fit For Jesus, there are several things that we need to lose.</p>
<ol>
<li>In order to care for our bodies (the temple of the Holy Spirit!), we need to “lose” the habit of eating processed, unhealthy food and drinking calorie- and chemical-laden liquids.</li>
<li>In order to care for His temple, we need to “lose” the habit of inactivity.  I actually don’t believe that everyone is lazy!  It’s far truer that inactivity has become a habit!</li>
<li>In order to care for the gift of His creation and a source of His pleasure, we need to “lose” the baggage and habits of our past and move forward into His loving embrace.  If you are a Christian, God isn’t looking at your past, so why are you?  He is looking at the redeeming blood of His Son because you chose His gift, and we should be looking at Jesus, too!
<p>Choose to look <em>now</em> at Jesus and <em>forward</em> into your <strong>guaranteed </strong>glorious future in eternity!</li>
<li> We need to “lose” our low self-esteem and feelings of low self-worth.  You are a new creation, saved by God’s grace, and an heir to the kingdom because of Jesus Christ!  You are immensely valuable!</li>
</ol>
<p>As you can see, friend, it’s quite okay to “lose” the world.  When it comes to your health and getting Fit For Jesus, it’s quite imperative that you lose the habits and addictions that are keeping you unhealthy and overweight!</p>
<p>Place your lifestyle in His wonderful, capable, creative hands, and start “losing” as many ways as you can!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The world tells people what they want to hear.  There may not be any truth to what the world is saying, but let’s face it:  if they are after your money, they really don’t care.</p>
<p>Before I explain the Fit For Jesus philosophy on frequency of exercise, I need to be clear about 2 things, really quickly.</p>
<p>1)	The first is this:  after being in the fitness industry for 15 years now, I am honored to know some great people who truly care about their clients and stand behind their products and programs.  In other words, the entire world isn’t bad, shifty, or shady.</p>
<p>I personally know the people I have linked below.  With two exceptions (Mike and Tom, both of whom I’ve had email conversations with), I have either met them personally multiple times or talked to them on the phone multiple times.  And everyone that I have met have vouched *heavily* for Mike and Tom.</p>
<p>2)	The second:  Even though I know them personally, I have purchased every single one of their main products.  So, when I recommend them below, it is sincere.  Trust me:  I’ve also purchased a lot more than what I’ve listed below, and there are some things that I will just never recommend&#8230;</p>
<p>I will also fully disclose that if you choose to check them out and end up making a purchase, I may make a commission.  At the end of the day, however, my reputation is at stake, and they wouldn’t be listed below if I didn’t agree with their overall exercise or nutrition philosophy.</p>

<p>The problem is that this very small group is the exception to the worldly norm when it comes to telling the truth about exercise.</p>
<p>Exercise is one of the major ingredients to the weight loss puzzle that we see twisted so greedily.  Headline after headline, commercial after commercial, and website after website all distort reality so far out of whack that there isn’t even a hint of truth left.</p>
<p>Of course, the worst are the ones that say you can lose weight without exercise by taking their magic pills and potions.  Here is the truth:  anything in pill or powder form that truly causes you to lose weight without exercise is illegal, usually because it has the potential to kill you.  Any questions on that?</p>
<p>Next are those guilty parties who say that you can just wear their gadget or use their magical device to shed inches and pounds without any exercise.  Nearly every example I can think of relies on infomercials that only show during insomniac hours.  Incidentally, they won’t air these infomercials during normal viewing hours because they would lose too much money advertising to people who were mentally alert enough to change the channel.</p>
<p>Some marketers selling diets, and especially the big “name brand”, internationally-recognized diet programs, say you can just walk a few days per week and drop weight.  And, technically, I’ll freely admit that is quite true… IF your nutrition is at least 98% perfect.</p>
<p>But my question to you is this:  if your nutrition is 98% perfect, don’t you also have the proven dedication to create much faster results and a much healthier body, compared to what you can achieve with just walking?</p>
<p>Every single one of the nine people I listed above are clear that it will take at least 3 days per week of vigorous exercise and a solid nutrition foundation to achieve healthy weight loss.  And that is why I respect them and freely recommend them if you are looking for a solution right away.</p>
<p>However… we have seen a problem over and over again, even in clients who paid high dollar amounts to train 3 days per week with us.  The problem?  3 days per week gives your brain too many opportunities to come up with excuses for pushing off your workout “until tomorrow”.</p>
<p>And the next thing you know, 3 days have gone by, and then 1 week, and then 3 weeks… and then a year.  Not good.</p>
<p>Ouch.  Reality hurts, sometimes.</p>
<p>But now it’s time for the full truth about <a href="http://fitforjesus.com/214/3-6-lifestyle-tips-for-christian-weight-loss/">Christian weight loss</a>, the one that the world doesn’t want you to hear.  You will get FAR better results working out 5-6 days per week, but it may not be for the reason you are probably thinking.</p>
<p>Of course, you will burn more calories by working out 5-6 days, as opposed to just 3.  It’s not rocket science.  But there is a far more important factor.</p>

<p>You see, the reality is that exercise needs to be done nearly every day so that it becomes a deeply developed and ingrained habit.  If you are going to truly embrace the verse below, then a total transformation must occur from where you are now to what you can become.</p>
<blockquote><p>“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is true worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then, you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing, and perfect will.”</p>
<p style="text-align: right;">~  Romans 12:1-2</p>
</blockquote>
<p>The good news is that every workout doesn’t have to be hard!  Do 3 days per week of intense exercise, and alternate with 2-3 lighter days.  Initially, those 3 lighter days may only be a 20-30 minute walk… no problem!</p>
<p>Be sure to set a goal of doing intelligent, healthy exercise 5-6 days per week.  As you are transforming your mind and developing the mental habit of exercising each day, you will also receive the benefits of a transformed body much more quickly.</p>
<p>And along the way, your perseverance will develop into character that Christ can use in this world and in eternity to come.  Get Fit For Jesus!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Believe it or not, Christians have it made when it comes to the topic of nutrition.</p>
<p><a href="http://fitforjesus.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Christian-nutrition-for-weight-loss.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-229" title="Christian-nutrition-for-weight-loss" src="http://fitforjesus.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Christian-nutrition-for-weight-loss-300x250.jpg" alt="Christian nutrition for weight loss" width="300" height="250" /></a></p>
<p>I know, I know… the world has made nutrition extremely complex and confusing.  Some diet book says eat carbs.  That diet book says don’t eat carbs.  Another diet book says eat fat.  A different diet book says don’t eat fat.  And, of course, there are diet books that talk about protein, cabbage soup, cleansing, grapefruits, organic foods, and more.</p>
<p>From a worldly perspective, it is exhausting, confusing, and actually quite annoying.</p>
<p>But… good news!  YOU are a Christian, and so it is very simple!</p>
<p>There is a combination of two Bible verses that really clarify a Christian’s perspective on what to do about their nutrition.  Here they are:</p>
<p>“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your bodies.”</p>
<p>~ 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20</p>
<p>“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”</p>
<p>~  I Corinthians 10:31</p>
<p>Pretty simple, right?  Let’s look at the verses in a little more detail.</p>
<p>In the first verse, the Bible is clear that our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit and that we are to honor God with our bodies.  The second verse explains that no matter what we do, we are to do it for the glory of God.</p>
<p>So, a quick summary before we move on.  Ready for it?  It’s not rocket science…</p>
<p><strong>Take care of your body, and do it for the glory of God.</strong></p>
<p>Now, I need to clarify something right away.  The context of the second verse in the Bible is from a portion in I Corinthians where Paul is discussing the concern that early Christians had about eating food that had possibly been sacrificed to idols.</p>
<p>Paul explains that we are to eat and drink with a clear conscience, doing everything to the glory of God.  However, if a non-believer told you that the food had been sacrificed to an idol, then Paul made it clear that it should not be eaten.  The reason why may surprise you, though!</p>
<p>Paul said the reason we should not eat food sacrificed to idols is technically <span style="text-decoration: underline;">not</span> because something is “wrong” with the food.  Instead, the reason is because <em>in the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">mind</span> of the non-believer who offered it</em>, the food and your participation in eating it would be glorifying an idol.  Obviously, as Christians, we want to be a witness and testimony to Jesus Christ, so we would need to politely (or boldly) refuse.</p>
<p>Let’s read the verse again, and note the emphasis this time that I have added.</p>
<p>“So whether you eat or drink or <em>whatever you do</em>, do it <em>all</em> <em>for the glory of God</em>.”</p>
<p>~  I Corinthians 10:31</p>
<p>Remember the summary earlier?  “Take care of your body, and do it for the glory of God.”</p>
<p>That is it, in a nutshell.</p>
<p>Any confusion after that is created by the craziness of the world.  And since I’m aware that there IS a lot of confusion created by all the billion dollar food corporations and diet marketing gurus out there, I’ll leave you with two more questions that will help you clarify what to do about nutrition as a Christian.  Here they are:</p>
<p>Question #1:  “Is what I’m about to eat or drink in the form that it was <span style="text-decoration: underline;">created</span> by God?”</p>
<p>Alternative Question:  “Is what I’m about to eat or drink <span style="text-decoration: underline;">unaltered</span> by some giant, profit-seeking company who could absolutely care less about my health?”</p>
<p>Here are a few example answers to either question:</p>
<p>Water and <span style="text-decoration: underline;">natural</span> green tea:  Yes</p>
<p>Just about every other drink:  No</p>
<p>Cooked cuts of meat, directly from the animal:  Yes</p>
<p>Processed, chemical-laden, preserved meat:  No</p>
<p>Raw Nuts:  Yes</p>
<p>Sugar- and chocolate- and other assorted- coated nuts:  No</p>
<p>Natural vegetables:  Yes</p>
<p>Fried vegetables:  No</p>
<p>Raw fruit:  Yes</p>
<p>Processed and canned fruits and fruit juices:  No</p>
<p>Whole grains:  Yes</p>
<p>Processed, refined grains stripped of vitamins, fiber, or minerals:  No</p>
<p>Finally, I’ll leave you with one final note, which will be expanded on in the coming Fit For Jesus program.</p>
<p><strong>If you answer the two questions listed above with “Yes” 90-95% of the time you eat, then you will be WELL on your way to getting Fit For Jesus.</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At Fit For Jesus, Spirituality comes first in the Spirituality, Mindset, Nutrition, Exercise, Lifestyle formula.  It is, by far, the most important ingredient for creating a healthy, injury-free body with lower than average body fat.  Spirituality is the Christ-focused foundation for the “Fitness Focused on Eternity” slogan.</p>
<p>I’m going to tell you a secret.  The biggest goal of Fit For Jesus is not to help people lose a ton of weight… it is to help Christians think more about their relationship with Christ.  It is to help people focus on their relationship with Jesus, much more than they focus on anything else on earth.  And while this may come as a big shock (I’m kidding), your relationship with Jesus is more important than your health and fitness.</p>
<p>We believe, though, that health, fitness, weight loss, and even athleticism can be an excellent tool for focusing our minds on the love of Christ and our future in eternity.  And, of course, since the Bible is clear that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, we believe it is important to honor God with our bodies.</p>
<p>But, for now, let’s look at the concept of allowing Fit For Jesus to focus your mind on Christ.</p>
<p>On one end of the motivation spectrum, you’ll find that most people, us included, tend to think about looking better and feeling better about ourselves when we strive to improve our fitness.  They want to look better in an outfit (or out of it), or they want to feel better, both physically and mentally, as they perform everyday activities.</p>
<p>On the other end, some people have been whacked upside the head with a medical diagnosis that basically demands they improve their health or face death much sooner than planned.  I realize that is blunt, but we’ve seen more than one client in that situation, and it tends to be both frightening and heart-breaking.  We don’t want to see you get that kind of a wake-up call.</p>
<p>The point is this:  everyone has a reason they either eventually start (or continue) to exercise or eat right.  The key is to focus your “reason why” on things that are out of this world.  So far out of this world, in fact, that they could be considered heavenly.</p>

<p>The truth is that there is no stronger motivation in this world than to glorify and honor God for His precious gift and Son, Jesus Christ.  Exercising and eating right with the goal of “doing everything as unto the Lord” provides a deeper, stronger level of motivation to keep making the effort than any other thing that my worldly mind can come up with.</p>
<p>At Fit For Jesus, we truly believe with our whole heart and mind that God will bless our focus on Him with greater motivation to achieve, more willpower when life takes more effort, and – dare we say it – better, more permanent results from exercise and nutrition.</p>
<p>You simply can’t argue the fact that God is the greatest source of strength and power when things are tough.  And despite what the world says, losing weight can be tough.  So why not draw from God’s absolutely eternal, ever-flowing well of strength and power?</p>
<p>Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.  The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.”  With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.</p>
<p>~  Isaiah 12:2-3</p>
<p>God deeply desires to do these things for you.  Let the Lord be your salvation in ALL things on this earth.  Let Him be your strength and defense.  Focus your mind on Christ, both in and out of the weight room or kitchen.</p>

<p>Yes, I said you can enjoy it.  You can experience feelings of happiness from it.  You’ll even learn to smile about it.</p>
<p>But in order to get to that point, your lifestyle must change from where it is now.  You currently have daily habits which are sabotaging your Christian weight loss efforts.  Many of your habits are based on mental self-sabotage, which we will address in future blogs and in the Fit For Jesus program, but there are also habits that are based on your environment.</p>
<p>When it comes to changing your lifestyle, there are certain things that you need around you more frequently.  There are also other things that you need to make sure are around you less frequently!  Your job is to figure out what both your positive and negative triggers are (Mindset), and then come up with a plan of action for increasing or decreasing the appropriate triggers.</p>
<p>Right now, take just 5 minutes and answer the following question.</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>What are 3 things that trigger my desire to eat?</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Once you have discovered 3 triggers that lead you wandering to the refrigerator, cupboard, break room, or candy dish, your next job is to come up with 1-2 healthier solutions for each of those triggers.</p>
<p>Did you do it?  If you wrote down 3 triggers and 1-2 healthy solutions for each trigger, you now have 3-6 Lifestyle tips for healthy Christian weight loss!  And since they came from YOUR brain, you have already found 3-6 realistic solutions, which fit your lifestyle, that you can implement to get Fit For Jesus!</p>
<p>The great news is that once you’ve taken control of some of your triggers, you’ve changed your environment.  Once you’ve consistently changed your environment, you’ve changed your lifestyle.  The goal is to create a Fit For Jesus Lifestyle that supports healthy, Christian weight loss with a focus on eternity!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday, I talked about the hardcore dieticians, nutritionists, diet gurus, and marketers who want you to believe that you can successfully lose weight and be healthy solely by eating properly and ignoring exercise.</p>
<p>And to be fair, although it is extremely rare, weight loss based on proper nutrition and no exercise can technically happen.  However, there are three problems with this scenario.</p>
<p>1)      Losing the weight would have been accomplished much more quickly by adding exercise to the overall program.  So, in a sense, the person that chooses to refuse to exercise and maintain a strict diet all the time can achieve her goal, but she would have achieved it much more quickly with exercise.</p>
<p>2)      Losing weight without exercise is a guaranteed trip to a slower metabolism and a physically weaker body.  Even under perfect conditions, the body almost never loses bodyfat without also losing some muscle.  And remember this rule:  when you lose muscle, you have created a slower metabolism.</p>
<p>Let me rephrase that a different way, because this is important.  With rare exceptions, your body will lose a little muscle when you lose a substantial amount of bodyfat.  About the only way to prevent this from happening is to be a “beginner” to the weight room <span style="text-decoration: underline;">and</span> not reduce calories too drastically.</p>
<p>But if you’ll notice, the exception depends on exercise!  Exercise is the ONLY option that gives you a fighting chance to keep your muscle while you drop bodyfat.  In other words, you WILL lose muscle if you restrict calories too much and refuse to stimulate the muscles enough to make them stick around and stay for a while.</p>
<p>Weight loss by dieting without exercise equals muscle loss, which equals a slower metabolism and weaker body.  Period.</p>
<p>3)      The third problem with weight loss without exercise has to do with Scripture.  Read this verse:</p>
<blockquote><p>“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your bodies.”</p>
<p>~ 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20</p></blockquote>
<p>The Bible is clear that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and that we are to honor God with our bodies.  The reality is that there is no greater way of honoring God with our bodies than to take care of them to the best of our abilities.  This includes both healthy nutrition and exercise, since both have been proven to provide countless benefits to our health and longevity.</p>
<p>And longevity is important.  Why?  Because the longer we are around in a healthy body, the greater amount of service we can provide to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.</p>
<p>So, while it is certainly possible to lose weight without exercise, it isn’t the most efficient option.  More importantly, it isn’t the healthy option that honors God with our very best!</p>
