Sorry it has been a few days. :)
Ok, now we have something to work with. Let's look at these goals from your original list:
4) I want to always be loving and supportive of my husband, family and friends.
5) I would like to start a family soon and raise our children in the love of the Lord.
7) I want to be healthy and fit for life, and not have to worry about weight or image. And I want to be able to pass this on to my children.
8) I want to be more active in my church and Christian community so that I may pass what an amazing gift God's love truly is
And then let's look at these goals from your last list:
1) I will vacation in Italy, Australia and Hawaii
2) I will run a 10K race
3) I will scuba dive
EACH of these goals require good health.
1) I'm going to speak politely, but bluntly, from a man's and husband's point of view.
- A healthy, fit wife is a very attractive wife. It adds strongly to our desire to be with and do things with you and for you. That may sound shallow, but there is no point in arguing with how a man's mind is put together.
- Therefore, you will have an even better relationship with your husband, which will be rewarding for YOU, too!
2) You want to start a family. You can DRAMATICALLY increase your odds of having a healthy child and KEEPING your child healthy when you are his/her living example, every single day.
3) Being active in your church will be even easier if you are.... active. Yes, it is obvious, but you will literally be more productive and effective for Christ by being healthy.
4) Your last 3 goals all involve being healthy. In fact, for complete enjoyment of each of those goals, they all REQUIRE that you are very fit and healthy.
So, I want you to BRIEFLY think about something: if you gain 50 pounds, how likely are you to achieve ANY of those goals? Be honest. It will make it tremendously more difficult, won't it?
Now, I want you to literally take that image that you just had in your mind of being 50+ pounds overweight, mentally reach out and grab it, and crumple it up into a ball. Then throw it away in your mental trash can, or you can even burn it so that it is gone forever. That's not the kind of junk we want in our mind.
Got it cleaned out? Good.
Now, I want you to write down a short story that combines ALL of the goals I have listed above. Just to get your creative juices flowing, you may want to create a story in the near future where you, your husband, and your children are on a church mission trip in Australia or Italy. Write about how your relationship is with your husband, the active things you are doing with your children on the trip, and how cool it is that you are doing a 10K in a foreign country!
So, write your story. You can post it here, if you would like, or you can just let me know when you're done. I'll tell you what to do with it from there.
