Spirituality and Weight Loss Made Simple

Spiritual-Weight-Loss-checklist

“Simple” is good, especially when the goal is to get closer to Christ and/or lose weight.

Way too many people try to make a relationship with Jesus Christ difficult and complicated.  Weight loss and fitness is no different, proven by diets that require an exact percentage of macronutrients at each meal or exercise programs that require complex programming, sequencing, timing, etc.

Albert Einstein said, “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.”  In other words, “simple” is good, but you must, at the very least, have the mandatory ingredients for success.

As with most topics in life, the application of a few basic, simple principles or skills will bring about the vast majority of your results.  If I had to summarize what I feel are the top 7 action steps you and I can do to get closer to Christ right NOW, they would be: WAIT! Fitness, the Bible, and the Temple of the Holy Spirit

Posted by Fit For Jesus! on May 20, 2009

It’s been a long time since I’ve written a blog post that excited ME like this one does!  So, after you’ve read this through and thought about it, be sure to leave a comment and let me know your valuable feedback!

In the first Fit For Jesus blog post, I mentioned the following scripture:

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.”

1 Corinthians 6: 19-20

This is only the beginning, but what a clear beginning it is!  Our body is the literal, physical temple of the Holy Spirit. By taking care of our bodies, we are taking care of our wonderful Holy Spirit’s temple.  Our body is a gift from the Lord, and we should all, in a simple act of thankfulness and love, take care of our body and the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Are we required to? WAIT! There is more to read… read on »

Motivation for Fat Loss

Fat Loss Motivation - Fit For Jesus

Get ready to think.  A lot.  By the end, you’ll understand the reason why.

In the 14 years that I have been a fitness professional and helped people lose weight, a lot has changed.  The methods used today to help people drop bodyfat are based on a lot more knowledge, research, and real-world experience.  In fact, dropping body fat really has never been easier.

Immeasurably better exercise programming, strong awareness of the need for recovery, greatly improved nutrition research:  it all adds up to a system that helps people lose weight faster than ever.

So, if that’s the case:  why are so many people failing when they try and lose weight?

The brutally honest answer is a lack of consistency.  Because think about it:  consistently following a system that has been proven over and over again to cause weight loss… is GOING to cause weight loss!

So, next question:  if consistency is the issue, why aren’t people consistent?

Admittedly, it takes work to lose weight.  You’ll need to work hard.  You’ll need to choose quality food.  You’ll need to rest properly.  You’ll even be a little hungry, sometimes, no matter what the latest diet book or guru says.

But…(the next logical question):  why is it that some people can maintain consistency and successfully lose weight, while others seem unable to do so?

For nearly everyone, the answer is… WAIT! There is more to read… read on »

Today will be the first day for the Fit For Jesus metabolism booster on Twitter!

What is a metabolism booster?  It’s anything that provides a boost to help speed up your metabolism.  It may be a quick 20-30 second bout of exercise.  It may be a quick stretch to get you out of your seat.  It may be a suggestion to go get a glass of iced green tea.

Whatever it is, it is designed to do one thing: rev your metabolism!

But here’s what will be REALLY cool:  with each Fit For Jesus metabolism booster, we’ll also suggest that you WAIT! There is more to read… read on »
