Fit For Jesus!

At Fit For Jesus, we believe in Fitness Focused on Eternity.  Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn’t think that way.  Which means, depending on how “wise” or “chronologically advanced” you are, you may have been taught wrong for the last few decades or more.

What is your current philosophy about food?  Exactly what does it mean to you?

Temple Fuel nutrition

If you’ve read Fit For Jesus for any length of time, you are familiar with the following scripture, which clearly states that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.”

1 Corinthians 6: 19-20

So, here is the logic:

1)      Fit For Jesus believes in Fitness Focused on Eternity – not losing 3 pounds by tomorrow.

2)      Literally, nutrition is fuel for your body.

3)      Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

What do we come up with?  Temple Fuel.  It just makes sense!

Thinking of food as Temple Fuel truly changes your perspective.  Every bite becomes a reminder that you are the temple of the Holy Spirit.  Every snack creates an opportunity for you to thank Him not only for the food, but for His blessings and for giving you the opportunity to take care of the body He has given you.

Literally, with the Temple Fuel philosophy, every meal helps you to remember that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and that your food is fuel – not a way of mindlessly filling an emotional need.

It’s amazing how thinking about Fitness Focused on Eternity can change how you think (and eat!), isn’t it?
