Welcome to Fit for Jesus!

Posted by Fit For Jesus! on April 24, 2009

Hello and welcome!  We hope you are as excited as we are to finally have a gathering place on the internet for Christians trying to lose weight, get healthy, feel better, and simply enjoy life to its fullest!

We have a lot planned for the Fit For Jesus website.  For now, we are going to start sharing some of the Biblical principles behind having a fit, healthy body.  And in case you’re wondering, it goes WAY beyond 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20, which says,

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.”

Powerful motivation, isn’t it?  But this is truly just the tip of the iceberg, and we will spend a lot of time digging deeply into… scripture and the promised rewards of a healthy body… all with a focus on Jesus Christ!

In addition to scripture and discussion, we will also have videos, workouts, recipes, and more!  But, truly, that honestly isn’t even the best part of the Fit For Jesus website.

In the background, Alissa and I are working with and finalizing an absolutely amazing piece of software that is going to bring the best features of MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter… all into one package.

  • Your own personal profile page, so you can let people know what is going on in your life and receive support.
  • Ability to follow friends, so you can keep up with them and provide encouragement.
  • Ability to upload videos, pictures, and music, so others can give suggestions on your exercise form (or you can simply upload some positive, inspirational messages for others!).
  • An easy-to-use, categorized forum for interaction, so that your discussions can help thousands of others.
  • Your own blog and journal, so you can provide week by week, or even daily updates on your progress with your fitness or personal spiritual efforts.
  • Ability to create your own groups (perfect for churches, small groups, fitness groups, etc.) and even a private group forum!
  • Live chat
  • If you are interested, there is even a place where you can submit articles that you feel will benefit the Fit For Jesus community!

It’s an exciting time, for sure!

So, here is the best thing to do for now, while we finish up the social networking side of Fit For Jesus.

Sorry, it may sound stupid, but I don’t know in what manner I should start the “program” proposed by Fit-for-Jesus. I have to admit: maybe it is because English is my second language… Of course, I found many interesting things on this website, but where is the “beginning”? Please: could anyone try to help me? Thanks, and God bless you all,
    Ben.

Ben, thanks so much for your comment.

At THIS point, Fit For Jesus is a place to learn more about nutrition and exercise, as well as changing your mindset to a focus on Jesus Christ as the TOP reason for being healthy!

Behind the scenes, we are working on a complete transformation program. It will be WAY beyond just exercise and nutrition. We will have daily devotionals, daily goal activities, suggested food menus, and more.

Just to give you an idea: we have about 40 videos to create. Many are for exercises, and most are just a few minutes long with directions, but we are truly making this the most comprehensive transformation project in the fitness world, let alone the CHRISTIAN fitness world!

So… stay tuned, and make sure to join the Facebook Fan page, as well, at http://www.Facebook.com/FitForJesus!

      Sincerely,

      Jeremy Nelms

I thank you Jeremy for youe quick answer. I am so grateful… I will stay tuned. Ps. For the moment – (I mean: right now…) – I am going to start with the “metabolism booster” exercices… Jesus is our Glory,
Ben, (who needs your deep-and-sincere prayers).

  2. Congrats on the new blog! You two are certainly the right folks to spearhead this. Looking forward to watching you grow and develop this.

Praise God for you both! This is exactly what the body of Christ needs and it is also another vehicle by which we can win souls for JESUS!

  6. April says:

Great idea! I have been wanting to start a Fit Club at my church and this will help out a lot! I have listened to all of your other programs and they have helped so much with my personal training business and this will too! Very and impressed and proud to be a part of it!!!!!

  7. Vickie says:

This is very cool. That was one of the verses that helped motivate me to lose the weight I did and start to workout more. It is soo easy to lose your focus on why you are losing weight and trying to get fit. I have struggled most of this year and last year with it once I hit my goal. I pray this will take off and be the blessing I know it can be

  8. Pam says:

This sounds great! I would love to help in any way I can!

    Jeremy and Alissa,

This is a wonderful site that you guys are putting together that will continually glorify the Father! I pray for your success.

Like you I have done the same with my own and am at your service in any possible way I can be! Can’t wait to see what you have coming!

    In Him,

  13. anne says:

its nice to hear and see that there are still people like you…who really care….and are very creative in making people keep their faith…..in everything…that includes being fit.

I do agree that anything we do to our body only shows how much we love ourselves and our creator….

    More Power and God Bless….

  14. Dan says:

Absolutely Awesome! I’ve always considered doing this type of thing, but didn’t want to just slap something together…

You guys are going to do amazing things with this site… I Love It!

    Dan

  15. Ula says:

God bless you both on your journey. My prayer is that you will focus on His highest . . . and totally commit yourselves and your enterprise to the glory of God — rather than to the crass commercialization that has turned so many sites offering “Christian” fitness help and guidance into travesties. Without Jesus at the heart and center of any fitness program, all is for naught. Working to honor God through this temple, Ula

  16. Elisa says:

Inspirational. Looking forward to following your blogs.

  17. Nancy says:

This is exactly what I have been praying for! Thank you so very much!

    God Bless You

  18. Kylar Dunn says:

I think this is awesome! I see so many Christians who believe that they will be more \spiritual\ if they ingore their physical, but God created each aspect of us and said it was good. Our bodies are the primary tool He gave us to accomplish His mission for our lives. How can we not invest gratefully in this amazing gift! \Let your light shine!\
